the Vityaz-SN is the one and only usable Russian PDW/SMG in Rainbow Six Siege. A versitile, rapid firing, and managable weapon. As a notable trend with almost all the weapons in Rainbow Six, the gun is almost identical to its real life version, not just in apperance, but in preformance.
The Vityaz-SN is a 9×19mm Parabellum submachine gun developed in 2004 by Izhmash (the manufacturers and developers of the AK and AN series weapons. It is based on the AK-74 rifle platform and offers a high degree of parts commonality with the AK-74. It is the standard submachine gun for all branches of Russian military and police forces.
the 9 x 19 VSN, isn't as popular as the hollywood endoubted AK-74u or the Vintorez, but in the entire Russian military, this gun is well known. Very new, so new, that not even Wikipedia has a page. It had begun manufacturing in 2004, but isn't in service until 2016, and is set to replace the 9A-91 7.62x39r SMG from 1991. the first recievers of this new weapon were the Spetsgruppa A, then the FSB, and finally is in service with the local OMON (Otryad Mobilny Osobogo Naznacheniya or Special Purpose Mobility Unit, the Russian equivilant of a SWAT team) and the main-service Military, primarily the Russian Navy.
The gun is comprised mostly of a composite material, making it super lightweight; and the only metal pieces are the reviever and over-under rail. the stock is foldable, making it 17 inches when folded and 28 when unfolded. Rainbow Six once again succumbs to redundancy by having an attachable compensator when there is already a compensator integrated onto the barrel.
The compact SMG is chambered in 9 x 19 parabellum, or a NATO 9mm. The rate of fire clocks in around 750RPM when in full-auto, but 700 in burst. the gun suffers from severe recoil and moderate vertical spread. The magizine is a single-stack curve, allowing up to 30 rounds capacity, 30 + 1 with one chambered then reloading.
The 9x19VSN has the same attachment allotment as the AK-12. with the same prices.
