800px-PEO Trijicon M150 RCO

A real-life ACOG. (TA31RCO variant)

An ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) is a series of magnified weapon scopes made by the American company Trijicon. Their scopes commonly offer a magnification of 4x, meaning anything viewed down the scope will be four times bigger than when viewed normally. Usually, ACOG scopes utilize luminescent materials such as Tritium or optical fibers to improve aiming and target acquisition. The ACOG series of weapon scopes is used by the US Armed Forces, as well as parts of other nations' armies such as the British Armed Forces.

Note: The Vegas series refers to the ACOG as the ACOG Scope, while Siege refers to the ACOG as the ACOG Sight.

The ACOG is a weapon attachment in the Rainbow Six universe. The ACOG appears in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas

"The rugged ACOG is the preferred gunsight of US forces and police sniper units."
— In-game description

The ACOG Scope is a weapon attachment featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. The ACOG replaces a weapon's default iron sights and adds a 4x scope that the player is able to view through. The ACOG Scope can only be equipped to assault rifles in-game. The attachment cannot be equipped to light machine guns, sniper rifles, shotguns, and submachine guns.

Note: If a player is looking through an ACOG Scope behind cover in third person view, the player's whole view is zoomed in with the sight's corner zooming in to the ends of the screen.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

"The rugged ACOG is the preferred gunsight of US forces and police sniper units."
— In-game description

The ACOG Scope is a weapon attachment featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. Since Vegas 1 and 2 share the same engine and models, it appears in the same configuration as its Vegas 1 counterpart. The ACOG replaces a weapon's default iron sights and adds a 4x scope that the player is able to view through. The ACOG Scope can be equipped to assault rifles and submachine guns in-game. The attachment cannot be equipped to light machine guns, sniper rifles, and shotguns.

Note: If a player is looking through an ACOG Scope behind cover in third person view, the player's whole view is zoomed in with the sight's corner zooming into the ends of the screen.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

"Provides a 2.5x magnification for long distance engagements."
— In-game description

The ACOG Sight is a weapon attachment featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. It replaces the default iron sight, providing a 2.5x scope for players to view through. This allows players to easily aim at targets from a farther distance than all the other available sights, with the caveat that recoil becomes harder to control, and shooting at close-distance targets becomes harder. This attachment is extremely effective on semi-automatic weapons such as the Marksman rifles and slug shotguns. On most guns, the sight displays an arrow with gradings; the tip of the arrow pointing to the target being aimed at. However, some weapons have access to different versions of the ACOG Sight, such as the AK-12 and  Gridlock's M249 SAW.

The AK-126P41 and Spear .308, like the rest of the Spetsnaz weapons, use different sights. They are also the only weapons capable of using the Russian version of the ACOG, meaning only Fuze and Finka can use this type of ACOG Sight.

In terms of distribution, the Defenders that can currently equip the ACOG Sight are Doc, RookEcho, Maestro and Kaid, meaning the MP5, P90MP5SD, ALDA 5.56 and TCSG12 are the only Defender weapons that can equip it. On the other side, every non-shotgun primary weapon on attack can equip the ACOG sight, with the exception of the OTs-03 and the R4-C.
