A real-life ACOG. (TA31RCO variant)

An ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) is a series of magnified weapon scopes made by the American company Trijicon. Their scopes commonly offer a magnification of 4x, meaning anything viewed down the scope will be four times bigger than when viewed normally. Usually, ACOG scopes utilize luminescent materials such as Tritium or optical fibers to improve aiming and target acquisition. The ACOG series of weapon scopes is used by the US Armed Forces, as well as parts of other nations' armies such as the British Armed Forces.[1]

Note: The Vegas series refers to the ACOG as the ACOG Scope, while Siege refers to the ACOG as the ACOG Sight.

The ACOG is a weapon attachment in the Rainbow Six universe. The ACOG appears in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas

"The rugged ACOG is the preferred gunsight of US forces and police sniper units."
— In-game description

The ACOG Scope is a weapon attachment featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. The ACOG replaces a weapon's default iron sights, and adds a 4x scope that the player is able to view through. The ACOG Scope can only be equipped to assault rifes in-game. The attachment can not be equipped to light machine guns, sniper rifles, shotguns, and submachine guns.

Note: If a player is looking through an ACOG Scope behind cover in third person view, the player's whole view is zoomed in with the sight's corner zooming in to the ends of the screen.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

"The rugged ACOG is the preferred gunsight of US forces and police sniper units."
— In-game description

The ACOG Scope is a weapon attachment featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. Since Vegas 1 and 2 share the same engine and models, it appears in the same configuration as its Vegas 1 counterpart. The ACOG replaces a weapon's default iron sights, and adds a 4x scope that the player is able to view through. The ACOG Scope can be equipped to assault rifles and submachine guns in-game. The attachment can not be equipped to light machine guns, sniper rifles, and shotguns.

Note: If a player is looking through an ACOG Scope behind cover in third person view, the player's whole view is zoomed in with the sight's corner zooming in to the ends of the screen.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

"Provides a 2.5x magnification for long distance engagements."
— In-game description

The ACOG Sight is a weapon attachment featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. It replaces the default iron sight, providing a 2.5x scope for players to view through. This allows players to easily aim at targets from a relative distance. This attachment is extremely effective on weapons such as the Marksman rifles. The AK-12 and 6P41, which are the only Spetsnaz weapons capable of using the ACOG, and only available to Fuze, use a different model with simpler reticle than the default version. The following Primary Weapons are incompatible with the ACOG sight: M590A1, FMG-9, MP5K, UMP45, M1014, SG-CQB, 9x19VSN, SASG-12, 416-C Carbine, MP7, M870, Super 90, 9mm C1, MPX, SPAS-12, M12, SPAS-15, SuperNova, ITA12L and Vector .45 ACP.

Trivia

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 and 2

  • The default ACOG sight model for both Vegas 1 and 2 is based on the Trijicon ACOG scope.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

  • The default ACOG sight model is based on the Trijicon ACOG, while the Spetsnaz version of the scope is based on the PK-01 day sight.
    • The PK-01 is incorrectly shown as a telescopic sight in-game. In reality, it is a 1x holographic sight.
