"Adopted by the Russian military as the replacement for the AK-74, this rifle has a high rate of fire and only supports three round burst and automatic fire modes. Normally the AN-94 uses the Scope or Red Dot attachments."
— In-game description

The AN-94 is an assault rifle featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown.

Overview[]

The AN-94 (Russian: 5,45-мм автомат Никонова обр. 1987 г. / АН-94 «Абака́н», lit. 5.45mm Automatic Nikonov assault rifle, 1987 / AN-94 Abakan) is a gas operated assault rifle developed in the 1980s and early 1990s by Russian designer Gennadiy Nikonov, and is manufactured by Izhmash. It is chambered in the 5.45x39mm cartridge. The AN-94 features a unique recoil action system using a 2 round burst fire at 1800 RPM called the "Nikonov mechanism" that allows the user to fire the two bullets in quick succession before the recoil is felt by the user.

In the PC version of the game, the AN-94 is used by the October Resistance in the mission Marseilles, and by the Global Liberation Front in the missions Estate and Mercenary Base.
