L1A1 IRL

The L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle, officially Rifle, 7.62mm, L1A1, also known by the Canadian Army designation C1A1 is a a British Commonwealth derivative of the Belgian FN FAL. The main differences of this variant includes a rotating disc rear sight for 600 yards, a two-piece firing pin, and a shorter receiver cover than other Commonwealth variants to allow for refilling the magazine by charging it with stripper clips.

The weapon appears in several installments of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Franchise.

Siege[]

"Customizable semi-automatic long range designated marksman rifle, deals high damage."
— In-game description

The CAMRS is a marksman rifle featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, introduced in the Operation Black Ice expansion. It is available for use by Buck and Brava[1]

Overview[]

The CAMRS is a powerful marksman rifle with a decent magazine size. It outputs high single shot damage, however, has a somewhat steep damage drop-off that leaves something to be desired. The vesion available for Buck is unique in that it comes with an irremovable under-barrel shotgun by default.

The CAMRS is unable to equip any kind of grip, as it's already taken up by the Underbarrel Shotgun. Equipping the Muzzle Brake is advisable as it is the only option available to ease the high stock recoil. Like all other DMRs, the CAMRS has high destructive capabilities, being able to breach a barricade or hatch in less than 10 shots.

Pros[]

  • High damage output
  • High single shot damage
  • Great for mid-to-long range combat
  • Low recoil kick
  • Skeleton Key under-barrel shotgun

Cons[]

  • Lacks grips
  • Steep damage dropoff
  • Under performing in close range combat

Trivia[]

  • CAMRS stands for Canadian Army Marksman Rifle System.
  • Kills with the Skeleton Key underbarrel do not count towards any gadget challenges in the Weekly Challenge System, only shotgun challenges.
  • In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Mobile, the weapon was erroronously labled the "L86" during the game's Alpha. It's name then changed to the FN FAL during the Beta before changing again to the L1A1.
