Dennis Gordon is a character that appears in the Rainbow Six novel.
Biography
Dennis Gordon is an old acquaintance of Rainbow Intelligence Chief, Bill Tawney and former member of the MI6. In 1999, he held a high ranking position in the Geneva British Embassy.
Following a botched robbery gone wrong, terrorists took hostages at a commercial bank in Bern, Switzerland. Bill Tawney was monitoring the situation and called Gordon. He told Gordon evaluate the situation and to keep him updated on it. He explained that Rainbow had a "special understanding" with the Swiss Government and that if the local police were unable to handle it, they would step-in should the Swiss make the call. Tawney then told Gordon to take the embassy's local police liason, Tony Armitage, with him for his evaluation.
After traveling to Bern with Armitage, the situation soon escalated with the execution of a hostage. Gordon contacted Tawney to update him on the situation and had Armitage speak with Tawney after he was done talking with the local police. Rainbow soon received the official order to handle the situation. Led by Domingo Chavez, Team 2 deployed to the bank and successfully rescued the hostages.
