The F90, also known as the EF88, is an Australian descendent of the AUG A1 design intended for export, licensed by Steyr to Lithgow Arms. The original F88 rifle is a licensed copy of the Austrian Steyr AUG rifle, and it was produced in Australia at Australian Defense Industries factory in Lithgow. Today this same factory is operated by the Thales Australia, which developed EF88 / F90 rifle as a next weapon for Australian army, as well as for export.
While internally and externally the F90 is still close to Steyr AUG, it has many distinctive upgrades and changes, developed by Thales to fulfill current and near-future requirements of Australian armed forces.[1]
Siege[]
- "Highly modular Australian bullpup assault rifle, chambered in 5.56mm NATO."
— In-game description
The F90 is an assault rifle featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. Introduced in the Operation Burnt Horizon expansion, it is available for use by Gridlock.
Overview[]
The F90 features the exact same baseline damage as the G36C but with a slightly steeper damage drop-off. It has below-average damage per shot but makes up for it with an above-average fire rate compared to other Assault Rifles. Thanks to its manageable recoil, the F90 is a solid choice to achieve headshots. Taking only three shots to kill Light and Medium Armored Operators while needing a fourth for Heavy Armored Operators.
Pros[]
- Low recoil
- Above-average rate of fire
- Quick reload
