Operation Shadow Legacy is the eighteenth expansion for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
It introduces Sam Fisher from the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell franchise as a new Operator, dubbed Zero. The expansion also features a rework of Chalet and Tachanka as well as numerous core gameplay improvements and reworks.
It was formally announced on February 16th, 2020 during the Six Invitational 2020[1] and teased on August 11th, 2020.[2] The expansion was fully revealed on August 16th, 2020 and became available on the Test Server on August 17th, 2020. It was released on September 10th, 2020 for Season Pass owners and was later released worldwide on September 17th, 2020.[3]

Gameplay[]
- All Defenders share a common pool of 10 Reinforcements.
- Rework of Thatcher's EMP Grenade. Gadgets will now be disabled instead of destroyed.
- Maverick Gas Canisters increased from 5 to 6.
- Iana's Gemini Replicator is capable of utilizing Ping 2.0
- Multiple hard breach devices can be combined to destroy a reinforced hatch.
Class of Zero Battle Pass[]

The expansion features its own Battle Pass known as "Class of Zero". It is composed of 70 tiers across a free and premium track. Each tier rewards players with exclusive customization items, Alpha Packs, currency packs, and boosters for a total of 94 rewards. Progression towards the Battle Pass can be earned in any playlist (excluding Training Grounds). It was released on September 10, 2020 and concluded on October 19, 2020.

The Free track is available for all players. Those who purchase the Premium Track will still unlock rewards in the Free Track.

Premium Track[]
The Premium track costs 1200 
. The Premium Bundle immediately unlocks 12 tiers alongside the Premium track and costs 2400 . Season Pass holders have a 30% discount on these prices as well as a 30% boost on the amount of Battle Points earned.

Trivia[]
- The Map Rework was orginally meant to be Skyscraper, however, Ubisoft made a last minute announcement stating that they decided to swap it out for the Chalet rework, which was meant to come out with Year 5 Season 4.
- Zero's nationality was stamped "Classified" with the NIGHTHAVEN logo on the Year 5. This was later stated to be an error.
