Ghosteyes is a specialized squad of Team Rainbow. Led by Taina "Caveira" Pereira, the squad was established by Harry "Six" Pandey following a restructuring of Rainbow.

People and information are two of the world’s most powerful resources. To obtain, leverage, or even eliminate them, Rainbow needs a unit specialized in stealth and intelligence. Ghosteyes operate in the shadows, slipping in where others can’t, doing the work that requires discretion and reveals unpleasant truths.

Specialist Taina “Caveira” Pereira is the prime example of a covert specialist who excels in cooperative context. She’s the perfect commanding officer for this squad, who will make good use of her fearless and inquisitive nature. Ghosteyes is not about loyalty or rigid hierarchy; it’s about asking questions, constantly evaluating and re-evaluating, and acting on information that likely hasn’t reached top brass yet. Their motto: “Do all the work, let others take all the credit”.

History[]

Following the defection of Nighthaven in early 2022 and the notable increase of criminal activity around the world, Harry Pandey decided to reorganize Rainbow's operating structure into four squads, each having a specialized role. Ghosteyes was established to be a covert espionage unit made up of operatives that were the best at infiltration, surveillance, intelligence, and elimination.

Operation Brutal Swarm[]

Ghosteyes' first known operation was Operation Brutal Swarm. It commenced immediately after the completion of Operation Vector Glare which saw Wolfguard rescue a Nighthaven engineer known as The Architect from a local militia. With Caveira overseeing the operation, she tasked Karina "Nøkk" Gaarddhøje with using the Architect to infiltrate Nighthaven's headquarters in Singapore. The objective of the operation was to retrieve data from Nighthaven's servers that linked them with the assassination of Masayuki Yahata. With Wolfguard's Néon "Sens" Mutombo accompanying them, Nøkk was successful in infiltrating Nighthaven's server building. Despite a confrontation with Charlie “Grim” Keng Boon, Nøkk managed to rendezvous with Sam "Zero" Fisher and escaped the area in a RHIB.

A few days later, Grim would retaliate by collecting personal intel on Nøkk and visiting her house, threatening her and her family in the process.

Operation Solar Raid[]

Grim's Retaliation against a Ghosteyes operative, along with the collected intel that suggested NIGHTHAVEN was innocent, led to Ghosteyes conducting yet another operation on Nighthaven's territory, Operation Solar Raid, as Ana "Solis" Díaz infiltrated one of NIGHTHAVEN's helipads where Jaimini "Kali" Shah and Anja "Osa" Jankovic were loading equipment and soldiers into a helicopter to attack whoever was responsible for stealing their gear and selling. Solis would then reveal herself, telling Kali she had orders to keep her grounded, as Caveira suddenly appeared behind Kali, QCR Drones appeared from inside of the weapon caches, as Kali and Caveira got into a fight, Solis used her SPEC-IO Electro-Sensor to target the drones as their fellow Rainbow operatives shot them down and then had their weapons aimed at Kali herself. As Kali tried to explain herself by saying she was innocent of Yahata's death that the weapons used in the assassination were stolen from her company, Solis explained that Rainbow already knew that, but couldn't allow the PMC to start a war over it knowing it would cause collateral damage in the long run. With Ghosteyes capturing Kali, Osa and all her senior operators, NIGHTHAVEN is put out of commission for the time being. Caveira then calls for a squad just meant for big guns, Redhammer.

Year 8[]

After subduing NIGHTHAVEN, Ghosteyes's Captain Caveira and operator Zofia Bosak are deployed on a joint operation with Redhammer to destroy a terrorist hive, whom were in possession of NIGHTHAVEN's ordnances, as surveillance and support. With Caveira having inserted herself in to report hostile count and eliminated one, Captain Jordan "Thermite" Trace of Redhammer takes point and calls the assault to commence. After Thermite has breached and entered, Zofia and Seamus "Sledge" Cowden flank and eliminated some of the terrorists, before taking cover and leaving the rest to Eliza "Ash" Cohen. Caveira then appears from her cover, taking out more terrorists before covering herself from gunfire with another terrorist's body, while Thermite jumps in to take out the last terrorist.

Record footage of this raid is somehow recovered by Gerald "Deimos" Morris, who presents it to Harry Pandey, before killing him.

Year 9[]

After a year of combating the Keres Legion, Team Rainbow arrives at Emerald Plains shortly before the Keres Legion and Deimos arrive there. Sam "Zero" Fisher is among the Rainbow Operators deployed, with the team lead by Gustave "Doc" Kateb of Wolfguard and accompanied by Julien "Rook" Nizan and Dr. Elena María "Mira" Álvarez of Viperstrike. Doc, Rook and Mira take point and fortify themselves, while Zero hides elsewhere to potentially flank. After Deimos has apparently taken out all of Rainbow's operators, Zero rappels down from his hiding place above in an attempt to flank Deimos himself, but is noticed and an open hand-to-hand combat ensues, where Zero is held in a choke after a moment of scuffle. Deimos however is suddenly shot by Rook, whom had been protected by his gears from the power of .44 Vendetta, a shot which quickly neutralizes the terrorist leader.
