Glock pistols have become the company's most profitable line of products, and have been supplied to national armed forces, security agencies, and police forces in at least 48 countries. Glocks are also popular firearms among civilians for recreational and competition shooting, home- and self-defense, both in concealed or open carry.

Several variants of the pistol are featured in the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Franchise:

  • The Glock 17, also known as the G17, is a 9x19mm Parabellum semi-automatic pistol developed in 1982 by Glock Ges.m.b.H., and is the first Glock pistol produced, so named because it was the seventeenth patent for Glock. It features a 4.5-inch/10.1-cm barrel and the standard magazine capacity is 17 rounds.
  • The Glock 18, also known as G18, is a select-fire variant of the Glock 17 pistol. The Glock 18 is a machine pistol manufactured by Glock Ges.m.b.H. that chambers the 9x19mm Parabellum round.
  • The Glock 19, simply referred to as the G19 or Compact by Glock Ges.m.b.H., is a semi-automatic pistol that is chambered for 9x19mm Parabellum and is the 19th patent for Glock company, hence the "19" in the name. The weapon operates as a compact version of the Glock 17.

Trivia[]

Lockdown[]

  • The Glock 17 was cut from the final release of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown. Despite this, it is present in the files of PC version of the game.

Vegas 1 & 2[]

  • The firearm is incorrectly listed as the standard Glock 18. This is incorrect because it is modeled after the Glock 18C, which has compensator cuts on the barrel, as shown in-game.
  • For balancing reasons, the Glock 18 in-games has a magazine limited to only 10 rounds, whereas standard Glock 17/18 magazines hold 17 rounds. When a player attaches a High-Capacity Mag to the weapon, the capacity changes to a correct 17 rounds.
  • One interesting thing to note is that the fire selector on the Glock 18 always stays on semi-auto, even if the player switches the fire mode to full-auto.
  • The weapon is actually modeled after a airsoft KWA G18C, due to the lack of engravings and the built-in compensator on top of the weapon.
  • When the weapon fires in-game, the weapon's breach incorrectly does not open but rather the compensator which releases the spent casing.
