Hans Richter is a character that appears in Rainbow Six.
Biography[]
Hans Richter is a German national from Bonn, Germany. He owned a trading business based in Switzerland and regularly banked in Bern, Switzerland.
In 1999, Ernst Model, Erwin Guttenach, and two others entered Richter's bank and took him and all other occupants hostage following what appeared to be a botched robbery. Not long after Model had begun to negotiate with the Swiss police, he executed a hostage in order to show his resolve and ideological purity. He then ordered Richter to drag the body outside to ahow the police and news stations. Richter complied and was quickly escorted to safety by police afterwards.
Once Rainbow Team 2 arrived to handle the situation, Richter was questioned by Eddie Price. Richter was able to identify Model and Guttenach from old photos of known German terrorists. Paul Bellow and Swiss police then had Richter help them review the audio tape of Model's earlier call to police.
Bellow later sat down with Richter and gave him three stiff shots to calm his nerves. Bellow then asked for Richter to recall everything he remembered from the bank and went over each detail several times. Richter gave detailed descriptions of the terrorist's appearances, accents, and body language which proved invaluable to helping Bellow complete their criminal profiles.
