R6Siege Hostage

Hostage is a PVP gamemode featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. This gamemode is only available in Quick Match. It is also an available variant of the Training Grounds gamemode.

Overview[]

The Hostage is located in one of the rooms of the map, similar to Secure Area.

Objective[]

The Attackers have to secure the hostage, and Escort the hostage away to an extraction zone on the map's external, or simply eliminate all Defenders. The Defenders have to prevent that from happening. Either by letting the timer run out or eliminating all Attackers.

Escorting Hostage[]

While Escorting Hostage, the escorter is restricted to their Secondary Weapon. Primary Gadgets cannot be used/deployed. Ballistic Shield users however can escort the hostage with their shield and Secondary Weapon (but cannot use the abilities attached to their shields, if any).

Rappel takes longer to initiate and exit. Also, the rappel stance is always right side up and cannot be flipped to upside down.

Both teams are notified of the Hostage's location, and if the hostage is being escorted or the escort is stopped. However, during an escort, the Defenders lose the location of the hostage.

Damage Against Hostage[]

The hostage is a human, and can be harmed by either team.

  • If either team offends and injures the Hostage, they have to quickly revive the hostage, while the other team must prevent that from happening (But the other team can also revive the hostage).
  • If either team offends and kills the Hostage, that team loses immediately.

Terrorist Hunt/Situations[]

The mode is playable in Terrorist Hunt with two variations, Extraction and Protection.

Extraction[]

In Extract Hostage, the player(s) are tasked with finding the hostage who is being held in a random room. White Masks will fortify the area by reinforcing the room and setting up Deployable Shields. After the hostage is grabbed the remaining Terrorists will move towards the escorters location while 1-3 terrorists will spawn at the extraction point.

Protect Hostage[]

In Protect Hostage, this is the only defensive mode on Terrorist Hunt. Similar to playing as a Defender in multiplayer, a team of up to five are tasked with protecting a hostage. Unlike multiplayer, White Masks are trying to kill the hostage, not rescue them. Players are tasked with fortifying and securing the room by reinforcing walls and barricading doors. The terrorists attack in waves, varying on difficulty. After each wave players have a few seconds to reinforce the area.

In Situations, there is a total of 3 waves regardless of difficulty, with 30 seconds in between waves. In Terrorist Hunt on Normal difficulty, there is a max of four waves with 30 seconds in between waves. On hard and realistic there are 5 waves with 25 seconds between waves. On these difficulties, White Masks will use shields and breach charges more than in normal.
