Gameplay Description

  • IQ can detect any electronics, meaning she can easily avoid enemy traps. Since she can also carry a handgun while manipulating the RED Mk III “Spectre”, it is a good idea to shoot any devices that appear on. Pay attention though, as some friendly devices like breach charges or drones can also be seen.
  • IQ's gadget is very useful for disabling Signal Disruptors through barricades in order to let your teammates place breach charges freely. The "Spectre" can also detect gadgets like Pulse's Cardiac Sensor, use it to avoid being surprised.
  • IQ can detect the location of the bomb in Bomb Defusal, active cameras, Nitro Cells, Mute's Signal Disruptors, Kapkan's traps, Jäger's ADS, Bandit's Shock Wires, Pulse's Cardiac Sensor, Blitz's shield, Drones, Smoke's gas canisters, and Bombers in Terrorist Hunt.
  • IQ's electronic scanner provides limited vision in smoke, only able to identify silhouettes of the environment and enemies.

The advent of complex electronics on battlefields has created a pressing need for more advanced types of portable, ground-based sensors. Inspired by Forward Looking Infrared technology, the RED Mk III “Spectre” displays any active electronic components in the immediate vicinity of the user, from IEDs to various types of specialized military gear.

Weiss designed the prototype for the RED Mk I while a PhD candidate at CalTech. She has maintained a firm hand in monitoring the subsequent models of the device, as dictated in her licensing agreement with the manufacturer.
