Kanal is a map featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, taking place in Hamburg Germany. The map was reworked in September 2019 with the release of Operation Ember Rise.

Situations

This map is used in Situation 5: Cold Zero. The Operator in this Situation is Glaz, attempting to rescue a hostage. The map contains one Bomber, and he appears to not roam, but instead wait outside the hostage room until the hostage is taken, after which he rushes the player.

The Hostage appears in the Control room, which has been edited to have most of its windows unbarricaded. It is always marked at the beginning of the situation. He always uses the male hostage model. The extraction point is at the Floating Dock.

Trivia

• The reworked version of the map brought with it a large number of changes. Originally, only one path linked the east and west buildings which could cut off players from objective areas. A new bridge and two staircases were introduced to improve map flow. Additionally, areas have now been color coated in order to allow players to coordinate more efficiently. Indoor playable areas were also redone, with the areas of some rooms expanded such as the Lounge room. Bomb locations were also moved to the Security room with a new doorway added to connect it to the Map room. The site in the Radio Room is now found in the expanded Lounge Room, across the hall from the Coast Guard site. The Radar and Server rooms remain unchanged but have had their assets reorganized. Finally, a new pair of sites has been put in. Bomb can be now be played on Supply Room and Kayak, although the area just outside has been turned into an indoors Diving Room.
• On the original map, if the player launches and detonates Ash's Breaching Round on the red containers at the far end of the overturned cargo ship, faint human shouting sounds can be heard.
