Karl Haider is a former Rainbow operative that appears in several installments of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Franchise.

Biography[]

Karl Haider was born in Graz, Austria on September 10, 1975. His father is a petroleum distributor and his mother was a homemaker. Additionally, he has a brother and sister. He joined the regular Austrian Army in 1992 and was later transferred to GEK Cobra in 1996. During this time, he trained with both the German GSG 9 and Israel Sayeret Mat'Kal. He also participated in the GEK Cobra raid on Deissenmayr GmbH headquarters in Vienna in 1998 and was credited with single-handedly saving the lives of seven hostages. He married in 1999 in was recruited into Rainbow the same year.

In an alternate timeline, Haider was an operative of Rainbow until 2019 when it was disbanded by order of the European Federation. With the breakout of World War III in 2020, he joined the European Federation Enforcer Corps (EFEC). Haider was promoted to the rank of Colonel and became the commander to the Enforcer Battlegroup 5.

Psychological Profile[]

Haider is unstoppable in combat situations. He is extremely aggressive and will not hesitate to use whatever methods are necessary to complete his mission. Despite this, he is known to place a high priority on keeping collateral damage to a minimum. He is fanatical about protecting the lives of hostages and innocent bystanders, even to the point of jeopardizing his own life. Off the job, he is soft-spoken and private, but has an iron determination.
