Legion is a bioweapon that was illegally developed by LNR Anderssen, a South African nanotech research company. It is an artificial virus engineered for aerosol dispersal to wipe out civilian populations. The virus kills instantly but burns out in a matter of seconds after deployment. LNR had intended to sell the virus on the black market. Before this could be accomplished, however, their research facility was raided by the Global Liberation Front and the virus was stolen. With the threat of bioterrorism, RAINBOW was tasked to track down and secure the virus. The virus has also been developed into the Virus grenade, used by the mercenaries against the RAINBOW operatives.
