The Benelli M1 is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by Benelli Armi S.P.A., and the first of the "Benelli Super 90" series of semi-auto shotguns. Introduced in 1986, it is available in several versions for civilian, law enforcement and military use. The M1 was succeeded by the Benelli M2, Benelli M3, and Benelli M4 models.

The M1 features the proprietary Benelli recoil system, known for its reliability and easy maintenance. The standard model features an aluminum alloy receiver and tubular magazine, and is available with a standard or pistol grip stocks. The M1 Super 90 can be fitted with traditional iron sights, or ghost ring diopter sights. Mounts are available for laser pointers and tactical flashlights.

The Benelli M1 Tactical 12g is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six.

Whether used for door breaching or highly lethal close quarters combat, a good tactical shotgun is an essential part of all anti-terrorist teams. RAINBOW uses the Benelli M1 Tactical 12-Gauge, largely because its superb recoil characteristics enable a skilled operator to fire five rounds accurately in less than one second.

The Benelli M1 Tactical 12 ga is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear. In the Black Thorn expansion pack, the name of the weapon is changed to the M1 SG.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike its appearances in several installments, the Benelli M1 can not chamber 8 rounds in real life. The real capacity for the weapon varies from 3 to 7 shells in its magazine.
