The M249 (or M249 SAW) is a light machine gun featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. It was introduced in the Operation Skull Rain expansion pack and is available for use by the Operators Capitão and Gridlock.
Overview
The M249 has a rather mediocre fire rate of 650, but it makes up for it with its high damage, controllable recoil and great accuracy. The magazine sports a hefty 100 cartridges, and with it's noticeably sluggish ROF this weapon is capable of firing for quite some time. A special quirk of the M249 SAW is it's unique integrated optic, featuring a simple cross, with little else cluttering the sight picture.
