For the assault rifle variant, see TAR-21

The MTAR-21, or Micro Tavor, also designated as the X-95, is a carbine variant of the TAR-21 rifle. The MTAR-21 is a carbine assault rifle manufactured by Israeli Weapons Industries (IWI) that chambers either the 5.56x45mm NATO, 9x19mm Parabellum, or 5.56x30mm round. The weapon is renowned around the world for its efficiency in close quarters combat and its ability to use a variety of munitions. It is currently operated as the Micro-Tavor in the IDF and the Zittara in the Indian Military.

The MTAR-21 is categorized as a submachine gun in Raven Shield, but categorized as an assault rifle in every other Rainbow Six game it appeared in, in the Rainbow Six universe. The MTAR-21 appears in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown, and mistakenly called the TAR-21 in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven ShieldEdit

The MTAR-21 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. The weapon is chambered for 9mm Parabellum in this game, instead of 5.56x45mm NATO. The weapon is equipped with a MARS sight by default.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: LockdownEdit

The MTAR 21 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown. It always features a reflex sight by default.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas

  • In-game, the MTAR-21 was incorrectly shown. The model was that of the original TAR-21 rather than the carbine variant of the weapon.
  • Interestingly, when a player opens up the weapon selection screen, an icon for the MTAR-21 prototype appears rather than an icon of the model MTAR-21 (or TAR-21 in this case) in game. The MTAR-21 was a cut weapon from the game, so the developers might have chosen the model for the TAR-21 in it's place, but left the icon and name from the weapon select screen.
