The MTAR-21, or Micro Tavor, also designated as the X-95, is a carbine variant of the TAR-21 rifle. The MTAR-21 is a carbine assault rifle manufactured by Israeli Weapons Industries (IWI) that chambers either the 5.56x45mm NATO, 9x19mm Parabellum, or 5.56x30mm round. The weapon is renowned around the world for its efficiency in close quarters combat and its ability to use a variety of munitions. It is currently operated as the Micro-Tavor in the IDF and the Zittara in the Indian Military.

In the Rainbow Six universe, the MTAR-21 is categorized as a submachine gun in Raven Shield, but categorized as an assault rifle in every other Rainbow Six game it appeared in.

Raven Shield[]

The MTAR-21 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. The weapon is chambered for 9mm Parabellum in this game, instead of 5.56x45mm NATO. The weapon is equipped with a MARS sight by default.

Overview[]

In the console versions of the game, the MTAR-21 is equipped with a red dot sight by default. In the PC version of the game, the MTAR-21 does not have the red dot sight equipped automatically, and can be removed.

The subject of this article, MTAR-21, has been cut from the final version of a Rainbow Six game.

The MTAR21 is a weapon that was supposed to be featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, but was later cut from the final product. Remnants of this weapon can be seen in the misnaming of the TAR-21 as the "MTAR21", and the class icon of the MTAR21 displaying whenever the TAR-21 is selected in the loadout screen.
