Hello. I was about to make a "Not to be confused with P90" on top of the P9 page, but... I need a second thought or more like mind about it - can people mistake these two or it's okay to leave page as it is right now? Also please look at my recently created talk pages - I want to edit things, but I need to be sure if it's okay to do. Thank you very much.
Hi Medlone, sorry that I'm not Awyman, but I think that you should add this to the page, in order to prevent confusion. Don't be worried too, everyone's welcome on wikia, but if people start vandalizing pages, obviously there are consequences.
Clover, I would like too, but Awyman locked out my template since there is already "See" one, but... it's not working as intended. It centers and makes text smaller, rather tahn doing it good as Wikipedia's "Not to be consufed with". I'm trying to be friendly and understanding too, I got some experience about wikia thanks to Battlefront wikia and other people, but that unreasonable locking without any message or instruction or even reply...
First time. I think I'm doing ok, no breaking rules. Well, I'll wait for response, maybe it's site problem. I'll try to do more images from the game for better visual presentation in the meantime. Thanks for support!
Penetration section is for Vegas series, not Siege one. Weapon infobox is universal thing, not exclusive to Siege. So feel free to skip Penetration one, because Siege don't have it or it's not announced right now at least.
Can I remove all those "reasons" while editing weapon-related pages? "This is most likely an oversight made by the developers", "The developers have seemingly no idea what a 30 round magazine for SIG rifles look like, since they do exist in real life", "The reason is unknown" - all those speculations and empty accusations - they can exist on discussion page, reddit, Ubisoft forum or etc, but not in the wikia page IMO. Wikia is about facts, in-game statistics, game-related useful information and small fun trivia in which you can list some nit-picky things or fun facts. There's no need for those "reason is likely oversight" if it have no reference or link to proof or reply from devteam. Medlone (talk) 17:24, December 10, 2015 (UTC)
"Reason Unknown" should not even be mentioned. Unless its actually referenced by the game or dev it should not be noted, as its then considered Speculation which is not allowed. In any case, these things should only be noted in a Trivia section
There are some weapons that don't have pages, so I'm not sure if I should add a separate page for a weapon that was supposed to appear in one game, but never did. I don't want to go out of my way to put a whole PAGE of a weapon that never appeared in the games. Tell me what you want me to do about it. Looking forward to hear your thoughts.
Update: Although I will still put new subsections for the weapon pages that already exist.
On the BF wiki we tend to make entire pages for weapons or other items that are cut. I would do it since it works better than adding a piece of trivia on a completely unrelated page. If not for a separate page, we could combine all the cut weapons into one page based on game.
I think this two should be merged into one page: M249 Squad Automatic Weapon and M249 SPW with second being merged into first since SPW is kind of variation of original SAW. SPW is kinda SAW without some parts for lighter weight. I suggest to rename it to just "M249" or "M249 SAW" for less characters too... just my two cents while browsing this wikia. Just like with MP5 and AUG I think this merging will clear some space.
Oh, there's also MK46 which is also kinda of variation based on SPW, but with some parts from SAW. Oh...
Suggestion #2: CZ-61 Sub-Machinegun and Skorpion VZ83 with 2nd being merged into 1st and rename first to just "Skorpion" (just like MP5, AUG and M249 - best for search engine). Pre-Vegas games are featuring "Škorpion vz.61", while Vegas games have "vz.83". The only difference is cartridge used. And magazine style.
Suggestion #3: MEU(SOC) 45 and M45 MEUSOC
Suggestion #4: 5.7 USG and Five Seven + rename it to canon Five-seven (or Five-seveN) since there are several R6 games with Five-seven and not every variant is USG
