Casual is the competitive gamemode playlist for Multiplayer in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. Casual is a slower paced and less competitive gamemode. Casual offers a place for beginner and intermediate skill levels to play in a fair environment. While similar to Ranked multiplayer, featuring all the same game types and maps, it offers numerous changes.
Differences from Ranked
- Players have random spawns, including on defense.
- Players are matched randomly.
- The system is based on best of 3 rounds.
- A minimum of 3 rounds must be won by a team to be eligible to win a match.
- If the game goes to a 2-2 tie, then overtime will commence and it will last for 1 round.
- Under normal circumstances, a maximum of 5 rounds can be per match.
- However, draws can extend the game indefinitely.
- Causal yields half of the amount of Renown for winning a match in Ranked.
- Abandoning your team before the end of the match does not result in a ban, unlike Ranked.
- Round timer is 4 minutes as opposed to 3 minutes.
- You can only teamkill 1 player before you will get kicked and punished, whereas Ranked allows 2 teamkills before punishment.
