- "If we're coming for you, run. We don't stop for anything, or anyone. We are the danger from above."
— Ram
Bo-Ram Choi (Hangeul: 최보람, Choe Bo Lam) codenamed Ram, is an Attacking Operator featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, introduced in the Operation Heavy Mettle expansion.[1]
Biography[]
- "In the orphanage, I fought alone. In Rainbow, we fight as one."
— Ram
Choi was born in Busan, South Korea. Although the circumstances of her early days are unclear, we know she was left at a fire department, then raised in a series of orphanages. Early caregivers describe a cunning child, who knew when to keep her head down and when to stand out. Hobbies that began in her youth, like interests in K-Metal and charcoal drawing, remain into her 30s — a testament to Choi’s consistency and loyalty.
Choi joined the Republic of Korea Armed Forces (ROKA) the moment she came of age, and began earning commendations, working swiftly up the ranks to Sergeant First Class (Sang-sa). She was soon recruited by the 35th Commando Battalion (Tarantula) where, in a tight-knit all-female unit, she mastered building clearance, hostage rescue, VIP protection, and the use of advanced technology when assaulting an enemy.
The Tarantula Unit is a high-performing CTU that deserves its renown, and Choi’s status as a standout about its specialists is notable, as she took the lead on a myriad of combat and intelligence operations. As other members retreated to the private sphere, she stayed, often the eldest in her unit. Performance reviews mention her thriving in this senior role, describing a fiercely protective soldier, who stops at nothing to keep her peers safe.
Psychological Report[]
"Given the sparse intel we were able to collect from Specialist Bo-Ram “Ram” Choi’s past with the Tarantula Unit, I needed to see her in action to determine whether she could fit the bill. What happened at Tower was tragic and something we can't allow to happen again, but if we can extract a single positive from that day, it's Ram joining Redhammer. Her unblinking resilience in the face of extreme duress makes her a perfect fit."
"Ram explained to me how women in the Korean military can only enter at a very high rank, then laughed and said she expects the same treatment in Redhammer. While we only have one Captain, she exudes leadership. A big sister vibe, really. Been awhile since I had one of those, so I’m not hating it."
"She’s dialed in on the field to a very high degree. I envy her focus, whether it’s during a mission or in downtime when she’s got her headphones in and sketching charcoal."
"In our line of work there’s a lot of, shall we say, “forced redundancy,” and if the axe falls on me one day, it’ll be good to know I’ve got a ready, willing and 100% capable replacement in Ram."
— Captain Jordan “Thermite” Trace, Redhammer Squad Leader

Ability
BU-GI Auto-Breacher x 3 |
Ram's Unique Gadget is the BU-GI Automatic Breacher, an automated, bulletproof drone equipped with several cutting blades.
Once deployed and activated remotely, the BU-GI will automatically move forward, destroying any destructible walls and flooring it touches. This can create several openings for Attackers, and make it easier to attack Defenders from above.
- The BU-GI can be set to travel in three directions, being straight forward, or to swerve left or right.
- The BU-GI will instantly destroy barricades it is thrown into.
- It also disables Aruni's Surya Gate without getting destroyed in return.
- While active, the BU-GI will destroy everything it comes in contact, except Reinforcements and indestructible surfaces.
- The BU-GI can destroy other bulletproof gadgets.
- The BU-GI makes a lot of noise when it is active, which can help mask the sound of other gadgets and the Defuser being deployed.
- The BU-GI is immune to electricity (Bandit and Kaid)
Synergies[]
- Fuze can force the defenders to move around, making it easier for Ram to pick them off.
- Gridlock and Nomad can prevent flanks while Ram makes vertical holes
- Lion can make defenders stand still, making it easy to pick people off with the holes you make
Counters[]
- The BU-GI can be destroyed with C4 and Impact Grenades.
- There's a red ejection cannister at the device's rear, similar to Mira's Black Mirror. If this cannister is shot, the BU-GI is destroyed.
- Mute's Signal Jammers can prevent the activation of the BU-GI.
- Activated BU-GI will not be stopped if it moves in the range of Signal Disruptor.
Device Description[]
- "Deployable mini-tank that moves along a set path destroying devices and breakable surfaces in its way."
— BU-GI Auto Breacher Description
The BU-GI Auto Breacher is a deployable (and throwable) armored drone capable of destroying floors, barricades, soft walls, and enemy gadgets in its path. The drone is activated through a remote signal and can change directions either going straight and swerving to the left or right. It is bulletproof and can be destroyed using explosives or shooting the red canister on the back. It is immune to electricity and even Aruni's Surya Gates. Once powered, the BU-GI destroys anything in its path, including floors and produces a very loud, mechanical sound as it rips up soft floors and walls.
Device Evaluation[]
Device: BU-GI Auto-Breacher
Operator: Specialist Bo-Ram "Ram" Choi
Evaluation Lead: Specialist Tori "Gridlock" Fairous
Mira let me take this sucker out for a spin to evaluate its usefulness— you know, official business. But there Ram was, watching her precious BU-GI like it was one of those "high-value assets" she protected in her previous life. She had nothing to worry about though. I respect her and respect the hell out of the BU-GI Auto-Breacher. Not much choice to do otherwise, because anything in it way is meeting destruction. Now, I guess Azami's Kibas could plug up those holes the BU-GI makes, but then you could just send in another BU-GI to tear those apart. Makes for a fun little arms race.
I'm dying to see this in action. With its big metal buzzsaws, it destroys walls, floors and the self-esteem of the enemy. My favorite part of this is the way it opens vertical attack capabilities, ripping up floors and giving us a vantage point from above.
With some direction from Ram, Mira has a first here. It combines an electronic starter with a purely mechanical destruction machine. Like how a car has an electric starter and mechanical combustion engine... but the BU-GI does not stop at stop signs. In fact, it's near unstoppable.
The pressurized canisters on the rear carriage are a bit of a weak point if fired on but if Ram protects it like she protects us, the Bu-GI's going to be shredding for some time.
