The success of both games led to Ubisoft purchasing the studio in August 2000.

In 2001, the studio released the acclaimed Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. The studio continued to grow and moved to a new location in Morrisville, North Carolina. In 2003, Ubisoft merged Sinister Games with Red Storm. Over the next decade, Red Storm would continue to develop installments in the Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon franchises.
