Rescue is an objective featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction. It tasks players with extracting a REACT scientist to safety.
Overview[]
At the start of the subzone, players must locate the REACT scientist, REACT physicist, or REACT engineer, either with Recon gear, abilities, or line-of-sight. In solo, the VIP will be highlighted at the start of the subzone. The scientist is normally surrounded by enemies. It is imperative that players do not alert enemies. Doing so will cause them to start attacking the scientist. The scientist only has a small amount of health which is displayed above them, or by a small bar if you are escorting them. If Rook is in the squad, at a minimum of Level 2, the VIP will have an armour plate, allowing them to sustain slightly more damage. This does not give the VIP a DBNO stage at the time of writing. Only a few hits will cause the scientist to die. This will cause the objective to be failed. Once players reach the scientist, they must interact with them to start escorting. While escorting, players will only have access to their sidearm and will be unable to sprint or use Operator abilities and REACT Tech. The VIP will also begin to cough, alerting nearby Archeans. Players must escort the scientist to the Extraction Pod and place them inside in order to complete the objective. It is also good to note that bringing the REACT scientist into the Airlock and heading into next subzone, it will not count as a failed objective and the scientist can still be rescued if still brought the Extraction Pod.
