The Saiga-12 is a 12-gauge shotgun available in a wide range of configurations, patterned after the Kalashnikov series of rifles and named for the saiga antelope. Like the Kalashnikov rifle variants, it is a rotating bolt, gas-operated gun that feeds from a box magazine. All Saiga-12 configurations are recognizable as Kalashnikov-pattern guns by the large lever-safety on the right side of the receiver, the optic mounting rail on the left side of the receiver and the large top-mounted dust cover held in place by the rear of the recoil spring assembly.
The SASG-12 is categorized as a shotgun in the Rainbow Six universe.

Siege[]
- "Semi-automatic shotgun, favored by Spetsnaz. Limited range, large spread decreases accuracy."
— In-game description
The SASG-12 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. It is available for use by Kapkan, Finka and Fenrir.
Overview[]
The SASG-12 is one of the most potent, close-ranged, semi-automatic shotguns next to the FO-12. In terms of damage and fire rate, this magazine-fed shotgun can easily tear a target to pieces. Long-range is inadvisable, though that goes without saying. It's still a powerful weapon even with a Suppressor, which brings the damage on par with the other semi-automatic shotguns. It's raw damage is even stronger than that of the FO-12, but not nearly as damage dropoff friendly.
Pros[]
- High damage per pellet
- Quick ADS time
- Fast rate of fire
- High magazine capacity
Cons[]
- Moderate recoil kick per shot
- High damage dropoff

Extraction[]
- "Semi-automatic shotgun, favored by Spetsnaz. Limited range, large spread decreases accuracy."
— In-game description
The SASG-12 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction. It is available as the default weapon for Tachanka and is unlocked for Finka and Fuze at Operator levels 3 and 6.
Overview[]
The SASG-12 performs in a similar manner as its counterpart in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. It features a high rate of fire and damage output though this is offset by its low damage dropoff range. It is one of the few shotguns that is capable of equipping a Suppressor, making it viable for engaging targets quietly. As with other weapons, however, the suppressor will drastically affect the weapon's damage output.

Trivia[]
- The magazine capacity was erroneously stated to hold 8 rounds in its magazine, when in fact the magazine capacity is actually 10 rounds. This has since been fixed.
- The SASG-12 is modeled with accessories from Hatcher Gun Company (H.G.C.).
