- "I was an apex killer, fueled by instinct and adrenaline. Times change though, and so have I. Now I'm twice as dangerous."
— Skopós
Kure "Skopós" Galanos (Greek: Κιουρί Γαλανού) is a Defending Operator featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, introduced in Operation Twin Shells expansion.
Biography[]
- "Ares had two sons, one of which was Deimos. You wouldn't be the other brother, would you, Svensson?"
— Skopós
Born in Nicosia, Cyprus. Galanos was thrust into the ethnic tensions on Cyprus from an early age when her family lost their homes during widespread clashes between Turkish and Greek rioters. The Galanos family, while never physically harmed by the tensions, continued to suffer difficult times for many years due to the unrest. Eventually, they fled the city, and Galanos' father, an ex-ELDYK sniper, taught her his trade in extended hunting trips through the center of the island. Galanos attempted to join the Greek MYK forces, but was denied due to her gender. Instead, she joined the civilian police force and quickly rose to prominence as a sniper with a reputation for precise shooting in less than optimal conditions which led her to her recruitment into the Hellenic Force. Galanos is, at times, a sheer force of nature. What she cannot achieve by skill alone, she often completes by force of will. Teammates often claim her piercing gaze does more damage than her bullets. She displays no antipathy towards Turks, or indeed any other nationality or criminal. She treats assignments as problems to be solved and solves them with a single, clean trigger pull.
After showing an exemplary capacity to factor in complex operational variables in the 2000 Mediterranean hostage crisis, she was approached by Rainbow. Galanos served with Rainbow for eleven years under Daniel Bogart, participating in the Rogue Spear and Raven Shield campaigns. After [REDACTED], Galanos shifted her career, studying mechanical engineering at NTUA (National Technical University of Athens) and undergoing BDR training to operate ordinance defusal drones, Galanos first deployed her ''Shells'' in Operation Daedalus. The successful mission confirmed their unparalleled potential and caught the attention of Aurelia Arnot and the Global Security Alliance Council (GSAC) for Galanos' reintegration into Rainbow.
Back in 2012, Galanos along with Gerald Morris and Daniel Bogart were deployed to Eastern Europe. Assigned as the group's sniper, she was positioned outside the facility while Morris and Bogart entered, discovering a bomb inside. While scouting the area around the downed hostiles, Galanos contacted Morris but was unable to respond. She noticed a helicopter leaving following a huge explosion that affected Galanos. She survived, but resulted to be heavily disabled. Ever since that incident, Galanos was unable to engage in warfare, particularly as a sniper.
A few years later, she was called back to Rainbow by Sam "Zero" Fisher to be involved in a mission in Athens, Greece to take action in a Keres Legion safehouse where important data regarding to their organization was stored. Kure then returned to Rainbow. With her new "Shell" robots, she collaborated with specialist Grace "Dokkaebi" Nam to complete the mission. They accomplished their duty and gathered a lot of their data. Along the road while returning to their aircraft, They were pursued by Keres Legion forces. While Dokkaebi was driving, Skopós deployed her Shells and fired back with a pistol to stop them, resulting in a highway shootout. They successfully taken down the Legion. Ten hours later, Nam and Galanos arrived at Hereford Base. There they meet Craig "Blackbeard" Jenson at the gate having a talk with Gerald "Deimos" Morris in handcuffs. Jenson then leaves Morris to have a conversation with Galanos as he was called by Elena "Mira" Alvarez.
Psychology Report[]
The reception to Specialist Kure "Skopós" Galanos' return has been mixed. Some are in awe at the very mention of her name; others are wary of her former proximity to Deimos and Nighthaven. There are also whispers about the wheelchair.
I will admit. I too was a skeptic. Despite her endorsement by the Council, it was my task as Captain to confirm her field readiness. Setting aside her legendary status among the ranks of Rainbow, and the nature of her separation from the immediate dangers of the battlefield through her Shells, any number of physiological and psychological issues could have impacted her performance. [...]
I found a quote about Galanos in Rainbow's archives: "[...] her piercing gaze does more damage than her bullets". Nothing has changed. Although she understood the reasoning behind my questions, it felt like she had taken ownership of the interview by its conclusion. She produced journals, cataloguing all nine operations she underwent and the rehabilitation periods that followed each. From the moment she received confirmation that her C5 vertebra could tolerate high-intensity training, she dedicated herself to returning to active duty, though it didn't sway the critics.
Galanos told me she's gotten used to the scrutiny, and that GSAC and Aurelia Arnot were especially demanding in their assessment. Their initial recommendation had been that she stick to lab work and engineering, but after a brief closed-door session she was given full endorsement to return to active duty. I have followed suit. Operator Galanos is here to stay, and I am convinced she is among our best. [...]
As her Captain, I have access to privileged information regarding the nursery bombing in Bratislava and the incident three years ago in [REDACTED]. Descriptions of the events alone were distressing, and participating in just one would have challenged my resolve. How Galanos navigated these traumas show fierce determination that I can't help but be in awe of, but I do worry about her inevitable reunion with Deimos. She had believed Morris to be dead, and they were well known to have been close friends. Now that she knows the truth, what will she do when she sees him again? [...]

V10 Pantheon Shells |
Skopós' Unique Gadget are the V10 Pantheon Shells, a pair of humanoid robots which she remotely controls and act as her body in the field. The Shells can move, shoot and use gadgets like any other operator, but Skopós can only activate and control one Shell at a time. The other Shell will be inactive, in which it will crouch down and deploy a Bulletproof Shield to protect itself, and act as a remote camera. Skopós can switch control from one Shell to the other at any time, allowing her to quickly switch activity from one location to another.
- The Active Shell is considered an Operator, and if defeated, Skopós is eliminated from the Round.
- As an operator, the active shell can enter observation tool.
- If Dokkaebi is chosen as an attacker and either the active or idle shell is destroyed, then a circuit board will be dropped in place of a phone like all other defenders. The circuit board works in the exact same way as a dropped phone does.
- The Inactive Shell is considered a Gadget and can be destroyed, but it will not eliminate Skopós.
- The Shield comes with a bulletproof glass at head height for observation purpose. This glass can be shattered.
- The shell takes damage in the same manner as a human operator. A shot to the body or explosives will damage the shell, while landing a headshot is different to other operators. Depending on the calibre bullet that the gun is firing, the shell will either be destroyed instantly or it won't. The D-50 for example is able to instantly destroy the idle shell if hit with a headshot, while the 5.7 USG won't instantly destroy it.
- The two shells have separate health pool, ammo reserve, and shield status.
- Any damage to the health or shield, or available ammo, do not carry between the shells.
- However, they share the secondary gadget reserve. Usage by one of the shell depletes the reserve for both shells.
- The Shells are Mechanical, and thus behave differently from other human operators.
- They cannot be healed by Doc or Thunderbird.
- They cannot equip Rook's Armor Plates.
- They cannot be put in DBNO state. If their HP is depleted, Skopós is eliminated.
- They are unaffected by toxic gas, namely Smoke's Gas Grenade and Fenrir's Dread Mine.
- Despite being mechanical and electronics, the active shell cannot be detected by IQ, or disabled by EMP (Thatcher or Impact EMP Grenade).
- EMP will cause the HUD to slightly glitch, and deny access to Observation Tools, and in turn prevent Skopós from switching shells.
- IQ can detect the active shell if it is using Observation Tools.
- Skopós's HUD shows the health and shield status to herself.
- The HUD does not show the inactive shell's location, ordnance reserve, and whether the shield's glass has been shattered.
Synergies[]
- The Inactive Shell can act as a barricade, blocking off entryways and corridors, as long as it has room to deploy its shield.
- Skopós is benefited by Defenders who specialise in removing explosives and other gadgets which threaten her Inactive Shell, such as Jager's ADS, Wamai's MAG-NET, Mozzie's Pests and Mute's Signal Jammers.
- If the active Shell is being tracked by gadgets such as Grim's Hive Swarms, Deimos's Deathmark, or Jackal's Eyenox, Skopós can switch control to the other Shell to avoid being tracked.
Counters[]
- The Inactive Shell's bulletproof shield can be destroyed by explosive devices.
- If either Shell is hit by an EMP (Thatcher or Impact EMP Grenade), Skopós cannot change control.
- For the active shell, this is due to losing access
- Dokkaebi can hack the Inactive Shell with her Logic Bomb, preventing Skopós from assuming control of it.
- Brava can overheat and destroy the Inactive Shell with her Kludge Drone.
- Skopós will be alerted if the Shell is attacked this way, and can counter the process by switching to the attacked shell.
- IQ can detect the Inactive Shell at all times.
- Claymores can be placed against Inactive Shell. The Claymore will not explode until Skopos activates the trapped shell.

Device Evaluation[]
Device: v10 Pantheon Shells
Operator: Specialist Kure "Skopós" Galanos
Evaluation Lead: Agent Anja "Osa" Janković, NIGHTHAVEN QCR Lead (with foreword from Specialist Emmanuelle "Twitch" Pichon)
(Comment_E.Pichon: I have carried out my own functionality checks of the v10 Pantheon Shells and have approved them for the field. With that said, I am grateful Osa accepted our invitation to submit her own R&D notes considering her pivotal role in their development.)
"When I first met Galanos, she was showing off her v10 Colossus & Talos models at a defense hardware summit. Her intention with the Shells had been to counteract the increased prominence of on-site terrorists personally guarding their WMDs. The natural course of action was therefore to develop a task-centric unit that could simultaneously defend itself and others. You can imagine my excitement when I saw the early model's ability to alternate between utilizing shield and firearm functions.
By now, we're at the point where they can be effective stand-ins for an operator. Some of the processes like reloading and vaulting have been streamlined with machine learning, but 90% of the Shells' actions are from Galanos' manual input. (Comment_E.Pichon: Manual input? The dexterity alone... unbelievable!) She's the grand architect of all this. I built the bodies, but she's got the vision that brings the Shells to life. I don't think there's another person on Earth who could pilot one of these, let alone two.
I shouldn't mention the cost, but for perspective, when Galanos was in the field with EKAM, they were forced to choose between helicopter support and the Shells. They choose the Shells every single time."
