Operation Black Ice was the first free expansion released for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. The expansion was originally slated to be released on January 5, 2016 for Season Pass owners and a week later for the rest of the community. Ubisoft later announced that the expansion's release would be delayed to February 2016.  Operation Black Ice added two new Operators from the Joint Task Force 2 CTU, including new weapons, abilities, and gameplay upgrades. The two operators were immediately unlocked for season pass owners or 600 R6 Credits. Alternatively, both operators could be unlocked with 25,000 renown each[1][2][3].
