Operation Dread Factor is the twenty-ninth expansion for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. It introduces a new Operator, a reworked map, the permanent Arcade playlist, a new gadget, and various gameplay improvements.[1]
It was formally announced on February 18, 2023 during the Six Invitational.[2] The expansion was revealed on May 14, 2023 and became available on the Test Server the next day on May 15, 2023.[3] The expansion was released worldwide on May 30, 2023.[4]

I'm used to being doubted. You could say that's how Deimos got to me. He did not question my intentions or fight my ideas. He manipulated me. I did not see his shadow until it was too late, and my colleagues paid the price. How could I let it happen?

The expansion features its own Battle Pass. It was released on May 30, 2023 and will be available until August 28, 2023. It is composed of 100 tiles across a board. The board is composed of two reward tracks that intersect with one another various points. Reward Tiles are unlocked with Battle Tokens which are obtained by completing Challenges or leveling up a player's Battle Pass level. The Board features Free and Premium rewards with Premium Rewards requiring players to own Premium. Rewards Tiles grant players with customization items, Alpha Packs, Bravo Packs, Operator Cards, currency packs, and boosters.
Players can also use Breach Charges to unlock Breach Paths to create a shortcut to other reward tiles. Breach Charges are unlocked every ten levels in the Battle Pass.
Free Tiles[]
The Free track is available for all players. Those who purchase the Premium Track will still unlock rewards in the Free Track.

- Taking a screenshot of Harry Pandey's death scene at the end of the Year 8 Cinematic Trailer and brightening up the picture will reveal the same skull image from Fenrir's F-NATT Dread mines on Harry's board.
- This is similar to how the gadgets of Azami and Sens, alongside the Nighthaven Labs map, were already being teased on Harry's board since the very start of Year 7.
