Tony Armitage is a character that appears in the Rainbow Six novel.
Biography
Tony Armitage is a former member of the Scotland Yard Metropolitan Police. In 1999, he was the police liaison for the British Embassy in Geneva.
Following a botched robbery gone wrong, terrorists took hostages at a commercial bank in Bern, Switzerland. Rainbow Intelligence Chief Bill Tawney was monitoring the situation and called Dennis Gordon. He told Gordon evaluate the situation and to keep him updated on it. Tawney also told him to take Armitage with him for his evaluation. The situation soon escalated with the execution of a hostage. Gorden contacted Tawney to update him on the situation and had Armitage speak with Tawney after he was done talking with the local police. Armitage told Tawney that the police negotiator was clearly out of his depth and that he had called his superiors for advice.
Rainbow soon received the official order to handle the situation. Led by Domingo Chavez, Team 2 was deployed to the bank and successfully rescued the hostages.
