Viperstrike is a specialized squad of Team Rainbow. Led by Yumiko "Hibana" Imagawa, the squad was established by Harry "Six" Pandey following a restructuring of Rainbow.

With a multi-disciplinary roster, Viperstrike serves as a versatile unit, suited for any operation. Operating by the book, they guarantee that any task they take on will be done exactly as expected, regardless of the complications. They are the first choice for a mission that needs to be done quickly and cleanly, like surgical strikes.

Specialist Yumiko “Hibana” Imagawa heads Viperstrike with dedication and precision, using her years of international experience to keep Rainbow connected and ever-expanding. Among most countries’ elite military and police forces, her squad is unofficially known as the face of Rainbow, and she carries that weight with confidence.

History[]

Following the defection of Nighthaven in early 2022 and the notable increase of criminal activity around the world, Harry Pandey decided to reorganize Rainbow's operating structure into four squads, each having a specialized role. Viperstrike was established to be a diversified and versatile support unit made of operators that act with surgical precision, discipline and excellence.

Operation Commanding Force[]

Viperstrike's first operation is to infiltrate Keres Legion's carrier aircraft, with the mission to take Deimos back. The operation was led by Captain Yumiko "Hibana" Imagawa, and accompanied by Vicente "Capitão" Souza and the new recruit Nayara "Brava" Cardoso. Having already infintrated the aircraft and stationed in the cargo bay, Brava pilots her Kludge Drone and takes control of a turret gun, and opens fire. When the Keres Legion notices, Hibana jumps in and eliminated a few more terrorist, before making a breach with her X-KAIROS into the adjectant Deimos's quarter. Deimos appears from the breach, and immediately pulls the lever to open the aircraft's hull, sending his men and cargo flying in attempt to eliminate Rainbow's operators. Hibana, Brava and Capitão manage to secure hold for themselves, but A flying cargo hits Capitão and makes him lose grip. Brava quickly reacts and grab her cousin right before he falls to death, and spots Deimos about to leave the aircraft. Torn between the choice to save her cousin or take out Deimos there, and even urged by Capitão to take the shot on Deimos, Brava chooses the former choice, and Deimos jumps off the aircraft.

Despite the failure to take out Deimos, Viperstrike secured intel on a geolocation in Brazil, which had been planted on Deimos's aircraft by an unknown party. Back at Hereford Hospital, Hibana defends Brava from Captain Jordan "Thermite" Trace of Redhammer, who protest on having Brava lead the team after her choice to save Capitão over eliminating Deimos, that the prior operation was Viperstrike's, and so is their next one in Brazil. Brava then reports the mission's urgency and her readiness in the mission. Out of argument, Thermite gives in, but nevertheless reminds Brava to take the shot if she sees the chance again.

Brava leads another operation on a compound in Ouro Perto, Brazil, with Viperstrike members Marius "Jäger" Streicher and Aria "Alibi" de Luca on the team. Alibi position herself above the ridge as cover, while Brava and Jäger takes point. Alibi's prisma tricks a guard, leading to his elimination. On the ground however, the guards are aware of Brava and Jäger, and put a suppressive fire on their position, prompting Brava to call for action. As she approaches the guards, a gunfire from an unknown position rains down on the guards and eliminate them, making more opening for Brava to battle through, and with gunfire cover from Alibi and Active Defense System of Jäger, the guards are eliminated. Shortly after however, the target building explodes, and amidst the explosion, Brava spots an unknown figure. Acting fast, she calls the squad to follow them, until the figure stopped and starts talking. The figure claims that the guards had been aware of Viperstrike's advance, that they had planted an explosive in the building themself, and that they are the intel the squad is after, and explains the intel on Deimos's aircraft along the process.

"The Intel" is brought back to Hereford and introduced to Hibana and Thermite.

Trivia[]

Blackbeard was originally listed as a member of Viperstrike in the Harry's Board teaser at the start of Year 7, however, his Rifle Shield was notably missing in the Viperstrike Teaser Trailer, while Capitão's Crossbow was showcased instead. Later, in the Redhammer Teaser Trailer, Blackbeard's Rifle Shield and MK17 CQB rifle could be seen alongside the other Redhammer gadgets, suggesting he had changed squads. Then, in the Y8S1 Reveal Panel, Blackbeard's icon was still listed as a member of Viperstrike, while Capitão's was missing. A few days later, in the Y8S1 Animated Trailer, Capitão is clearly shown wearing a Viperstrike uniform.
